"Days up and down they come,
Like rain on a conga drum."
— Townes Van Zandt
Some weeks seem to fly by. Others drag their feet. Most of us spend too much time trying to control which kind we're having. Townes had a way of reminding us that time keeps its own rhythm, whether we're paying attention or not.
Bright, crisp, and uncomplicated. This has become one of my favorite summer drinks, especially after a day on the river or standing around the grill with friends.

Twenty years later, this remains one of my all-time favorite albums.
Some records stay with you because they're tied to a particular season of life. Others stick around because every time you return to them, they reveal something new. Rabbit Fur Coat has always been one of those records for me. Equal parts California folk, country gospel, and late-night confession, it somehow feels both timeless and deeply personal.
If you've never spent time with it, the 25th anniversary is as good an excuse as any.

This is probably more than most people ever wanted to know about sparkling water, but I found it genuinely enlightening. It explains the differences between seltzer, club soda, sparkling mineral water, and tonic, along with when each one actually works best in cocktails and cooking. Turns out they're not nearly as interchangeable as I assumed.
